Eating well and being physically active is essential to main good health. Our programmes are designed to give you a kickstart but also improve your health for the long term.

ACTIVE HEALTHY...

Our ‘Active healthy…’ programme is our 6 week healthy lifestyle programme providing both healthy eating guidance and physical activity sessions. We have the following 'Active Healthy' programmes available:

We use the eatwell guide and provide realistic and practical ideas on how to make small changes to what you eat that are sustainable. We will educate you on reading nutritional information so you are always informed when making food choices. Our fitness sessions will be targeted at a level to suit you but aimed to improve your fitness levels throughout the programme.

The healthy eating sessions consist of:-

  • Benefits of a healthy balanced diet using the eatwell guide

  • Portion sizes – how much should be on your plate

  • Fats and sugar – How much fat and sugar is in our food and how can we reduce this

  • Food labelling – what does it all and what you should be looking at?

  • Cravings and triggers – how to overcome those sweet cravings

  • Lifelong habits – How to sustain your health for the long term.

FAMILY HEALTH

Active Healthy Families is our 6 week programme for 7-12 year olds and their families who would like to improve their health together. The 6 week programme consists of both healthy eating advice and guidance as well as an exercise session of fun active games each week.

 LET'S GET ACTIVE

To stay healthy, adults should try to be active every day and aim to achieve at least 150 minutes of physical activity over a week through a variety of activities. Children over 5 should be active for at least 60minutes a day.

People who exercise regularly have a lower risk of developing many long-term (chronic) conditions, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and some cancers.Research shows that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Our Fun and friendly classes are designed to remove those 'barriers' and energise and encourage everyone to lead an active lifestyle.

Our current classes include:-

  • Fit for Mamma - our postpartum exercise class

  • Beginner Fit - fitness class for those who are new to exercise
